Port Authorities of Rotterdam

Directorate Port Infrastructure & Maritime Affairs

Manager Quaywall Maintenance

08/1995 – 03/1996

In this role I was responsible for identifying necessary maintenance on quaywalls, piers, jetties and ro-ro-landing stages in the port of Rotterdam, throughout an area that stretched from the Van Brienenoordbridge on the east side of the city to the most western tip of the Maasvlakte at the Port's sea entrance. The department I worked for was responsible for all maintenance that had to be done on all of the Port Authority owned assets.

The pictures below show upgrading an old, heritage quaywall, originally build in the 1700's. 2nd photo shows a damaged jetty that got hit by the vessel that can be seen in the background and on the 3rd photo depicts the demolition of an old timber deck pier which was going to be replaced.
